Why Music?

We are often asked, “Why is music so important?
Why do we need an orchestra?” and my response
is, “Without music, our lives would be quiet.” Music
has a way to speak to us, when we are melancholy,
angry or joyful.

Why do we have music at weddings and funerals?
Why do we listen to music at work? Why do we
crave that which is indescribable? It is because we
can’t live without it – music.

Music is part of each of us, be it country, folk, rock,
jazz, classical. We all need music and it speaks to us.
And what better way to experience music than in
a live performance with the Lethbridge Symphony
Orchestra and friends.

We have a fantastic season ahead of us with great
works performed in Master Series and Chamber
Series. We are excited to have with us, for the third
year, the University of Lethbridge Faculty Brass in
the Chamber Series – a concert not to be missed.
There are so many reasons why we want to see you
at the concerts this season, but mostly, because it is
music that speaks louder than words ever will. We
are looking forward to seeing you this season.
