The Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra has internship positions available through the Serving Communities Internship Program (SCiP). SCiP will provide the successful intern $1000 after the deliverables have been achieved with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra.

Position Projects & Fundraising
Position Description & Link to the Organization’s Mission
To create and promote a first class orchestra producing memorable musical experiences for audiences of all ages, the Production assistant will assist with the day-to-day operations of the LSO. The position includes project creation and management, specifically special events and fundraisers throughout the season.
Skills & Experience
Competencies with computer software and office equipment, including PC and Mac operating systems
Team player but can work independently as well
Comfortable working with the public
Some experience with project management
Creative, out-of-the-box thinking skills to help identify better strategies for project management with the LSO
Deliverables / Duties
The successful candidate will work directly with the office staff in producing special events & fundraiser events.
Special event & fundraiser event duties will include
contacting vendors and suppliers for quotes, donations, sponsorships, etc.
working directly with committees to assist with administrative tasks, ie – photocopying, note taking, meeting coordination
working directly with the Concert Coordinator to assist with marketing and concert production
assisting with set-up, event execution, and event tear-down
assisting with ticket sales of special events.

Time & Day of Internship Engagement
Daytime; Weekdays; Evening
Time Commitment
15 hours a week, September flexible starting date to mid-late May, depending on LSO functions. Ideally this position would be fulfilled in the office, but flexibility will be determined upon successful candidate’s schedule. Some evening work will be required, ie concert nights or special event nights.

Patron Demographic Development duties will include
Contacting single ticket purchasers to conduct marketing survey
Tracking and evaluating purchase histories with demographic information
Data entry into Patron Manager database (database of the LSO)
