Glen Montgomery leads a dynamic musical life throughout Canada, performing, teaching, and composing. He has performed around the world, including in such renowned venues as Leningrad’s Philharmonic Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and interesting locales such as Iceland, Japan and Australia. As a collaborative artist, Glen joins top names like James Campbell, Lynn Harrell and the Orford Quartet, among others, as well as making regular appearances at Ontario’s Festival of the Sound. Broadcasts and recordings include work with the CBC, PBS, and Analekta.
Glen has served on the faculties of the Banff Centre for the Arts, Mount Royal University, the University of Ottawa, Conservatoire de Montréal, and the University of Lethbridge. His students have included Magdalena von Eccher, Sarah Hagen, Jan Lisiecki, and Stephen Nguyen, all of whom have achieved international acclaim. Others have gone on to success in such diverse areas as teaching, law, medicine and accounting.
Glen has enjoyed a great association with the Lethbridge Symphony, Musaeus and his colleagues. He currently resides in Montreal with his wife, Magdalena von Eccher.
