RBC Orchestra Mentorship Program
Gifted students from the University of Lethbridge’s Department of Music who regularly perform with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra benefit from the RBC Orchestra Mentorship Program. In the final stages of their education and professional training, these talented young musicians gain invaluable experience under the guidance and leadership of seasoned professionals who mentor them both on- and off-stage.
We provide a structured learning environment in which these musicians learn about orchestral repertoire and ensemble playing. Many of the skills learned as a member of the orchestra can be of assistance in the audition process when applying to other Canadian orchestras.
As members of the LSO, there pre-professional musicians also participate in other activities within the organization, such as administrative opportunities and serving on committees.
Participants have the chance to meet with the Music Director to discuss professionalism within the orchestra community, as well as audition requirements. The Executive Director is also available to discuss career opportunities in orchestra management.
We gratefully acknowledge the RBC Foundation for the financial support that makes this vital program possible.
