Young Artist Competition

Lethbridge Symphony Biennial Young Artist Competition

Sunday, September 18, 2016

Doors: 2:30 PM
Concert: 3 PM

University of Lethbridge Recital Hall

The winner of the biennial Young Artist Competition receives an invitation to play as a guest soloist with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra in the next concert season, as well as a generous cash prize. The Lethbridge Symphony was pleased to welcome four outstanding musicians to the University of Lethbridge Recital Hall for the Live Audition Finals of the 17th Biennial Young Artist Competition.

Competition was fierce, and each finalist performed all or a portion of a major solo work before a dazzled crowd of family, friends, fans, and music supporters, as well as the panel of adjudicators. They had the tough job of choosing just one winner from these talented young people. As Lethbridge Symphony Music Director, Glenn Klassen put it, “I’m glad I’m not an adjudicator!”
