The Movie Mill presents the Royal Opera House’s production of Giuseppe Verdi’s famous La traviata from London’s Covent Garden. The three-act opera, which is set in 1850s Paris, is known for the tragedy of its main characters, reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. Based on a book by Alexandre Dumas, fils (son of the author of Les Misérables), Dumas also adapted it into a play which launched his fame as a dramatist, and Verdi appropriated for his well-known opus.
