The Lethbridge Symphony is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual for the position of Events Assistant, to commence work by October 14, 2018. Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Events Assistant is primarily responsible for setting up front-of-house and door ticket sales for our orchestra concerts.

In this role, the Events Assistant will be expected to sell tickets for all Symphony Series events through our cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, PatronManager (based on the Salesforce platform), as well as handle cash and maintain a float.

The work schedule will be intermittent, and align with our event schedule (see for more details; front-of-house setup will usually occur on Sunday afternoons). Some flexibility in scheduling hours may be possible by prior arrangement.

This is a part-time, contract position for the 2018-2019 Season (through May 2019), to be paid $1,000. Any prior related experience would definitely be an asset.

About the Lethbridge Symphony
The Lethbridge Symphony has been entertaining audiences since 1960 and it remains a vital part of the arts in southern Alberta, drawing audiences from Lethbridge and the surrounding area. Incorporated as a charitable non-profit in 1961, our first 50 years of music were created by volunteers, with a resident professional music director starting in 1978, and the Musaeus string quartet founded in 1982.

Under the leadership of music director Glenn Klassen, the skilled amateur players, outstanding local professionals, and talented students who make up your Symphony collaborate with numerous fellow community arts groups. Many of our area’s leading performers are frequent partners and we have shared the stage with several internationally recognised artists.

We produce a dozen large events annually, including the Symphony Series (with the full orchestra), Symphony Extras (featuring smaller ensembles), plus our ever-popular Kids Choir and Feel the Beat programs, as well as our annual Love Notes fundraiser. Through our specially-designed Vibrations education and outreach programs, we make the wonder and excitement of live classical music accessible to everyone.

As the community’s top presenter of classical music events, we perform for close to 10,000 people each Season.
