Matt Groenheide is a Lethbridge-born percussionist, specializing in classical percussion, drumset, and a variety of drums from around the world. Matt first played with the LSO in 2004 and the 2020-2021 season will be his fourth consecutive season as the Principal Percussionist.
Taylor has been a recurring musician with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra as a member of the percussion section for the last five years. He recently completed his studies in percussion performance at the University of Lethbridge and has been active in performing ensembles in Lethbridge as well as worldwide.
Outside of the orchestra Taylor is a freelance percussionist and chef, when he is not traveling for auditions, festivals and competitions.
I have been a member of the Symphony since 2013 taking multiple roles in percussion as well as the role of Principal Timpanist and Percussionist. I graduated with my Bachelor of Music performance in percussion from the University of Lethbridge in 2016. I have performed throughout Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Hong Kong, Hawaii and mainland USA.
The Lethbridge Symphony has also featured a long list of fine percussionists from the University of Lethbridge as well as the Lethbridge community. This list includes Taylor Atwood, Blake Davenport, Tate Orlita, Theo Lysyk and many more.
